With the Premier League returning this weekend, here is our Manchester City Vs Tottenham preview, prediction, latest team news and confirmed lineups ahead of Saturday’s game.

Manchester City Vs Tottenham Preview

City’s loss at Pep Guardiola.

The champions have not lost four consecutive matches in all competitions since 2006. Having also lost to Bournemouth in the league, City have slipped to five points adrift of leaders Liverpool.

There is plenty of football still to be played, but little room for further error if they want to win a record fifth title in a row.

In better news, City fans were celebrating as Pep Guardiola was confirmed as staying on for another year. And while they are in a spell of poor form, City have not lost at the Etihad for 52 games in all competitions.

Trying to change that will be a Tottenham team that has regularly got the better of City in recent years. City have beaten Tottenham just three times in their last ten league meetings.

However, the honeymoon period is well and truly over for Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou. His side are tenth, a full 12 points below Liverpool and as close to the foot of the table as the summit.

But with the mid-table as congested as it’s been in years, Tottenham are still only three points below Chelsea in third. Spurs also beat City 2-1 in their most recent meeting, an EFL Cup last-16 tie in October.

They have struggled away from home, though. Tottenham have just four wins from their last 18 Premier League away games.

Manchester City Vs Tottenham Team News

City’s long-term injured list includes Ballon d’Or winner Rodri (ACL) and Oscar Bobb (leg fracture).

There will be a vast number of players awaiting late fitness tests, however. All of Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Phil Foden have been in training this week, while Guardiola will anxiously await the fitness of Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku, Nathan Ake and Matheus Nunes.

With a host of defenders possibly back fit, Josko Gvardiol could shift to the left in place of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey.

Kyle Walker and Rico Lewis will continue to compete for the starting right-back shirt.

Tottenham will be without midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur. The Uruguayan international has been banned by the FA for seven games after comments he made about teammate Son Heung-Min.

Spurs are appealing the suspension, but any decision will be too late for this weekend.

Elsewhere, hamstring issues will keep out Richarlison and Wilson Odobert. Defender Micky van de Ven is also a doubt with his own hamstring problem, as is Cristian Romero who is struggling with a foot issue.

Manchester City Vs Tottenham Confirmed Lineups

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Lewis, Gundogan; Bernardo, Foden, Savinho; Haaland

Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Maddison, Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son

Manchester City Vs Tottenham Prediction

Spurs have been a thorn in Pep Guardiola’s side for several years. No side has beaten City more times (six) or scored more goals against them (22) since Pep Guardiola took charge.

But while Tottenham will be a tough ask, their away form has been awful and we don’t see them breaking City’s unbeaten home run.

We hope there will be plenty of goals in this one, and can see an exciting draw on the cards.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-2 Tottenham
