With two of Europe’s biggest clubs going head-to-head in the Champions League, here’s our Bayern Munich Vs PSG preview, prediction, team news and confirmed lineups ahead of tonight’s titanic clash.

Bayern Munich Vs PSG Preview

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern side go onto Tuesday’s Champions League fixture on the back of a six-game win streak.

They are unbeaten since losing 4-1 to Barcelona in October, and thumped Augsburg 3-0 on Friday in their last fixture.

Currently six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, they have not been as convincing in Europe.

So far, they have beaten Benfica and thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 9-2, but lost to Aston Villa as well as their Barca defeat.

This leaves the German giants 17th in the Champions League, and desperately needing a win.

Likewise, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

PSG have a poor record against Tuesday’s opponents in recent years. Not only did they famously lose the 2020 Champions League final 1-0 to Bayern, they were also beaten home and away in the last-16 in 2022/23.

However, Bayern’s last home defeat in Europe was against PSG in the 2020/21 quarter-finals. Luis Enrique’s PSG side are predictably dominant in the French top flight, currently six points clear, but need a sharp upturn in form if they are to progress in Europe.

With the French club 25th in the standings at present, anything but a victory in Munich leaves them in a very precarious position as we approach the business end of the competition’s new-look league phase.

Bayern Munich Vs PSG Team News

For Bayern, they are definitely missing Joao Palhinha, with Mathys Tel also struggling for fitness after missing Friday’s win over Augsburg.

Both Josip Stanisic and Aleksandar Pavlovic and Josip Stanisic have returned to training, but Hiroki Ito remains sidelined for the German outfit.

Palhinha’s absence means Leon Goretzka will play in midfield, alongside Konrad Laimer and Leroy Sane returns to the starting lineup.

Harry Kane recently broke the record for the fastest Bundesliga player to reach 50 goals, and will lead the line for Bayern.

PSG, meanwhile, are missing all of Senny Mayulu, Lucas Hernandez, Goncalo Ramos and Presnel Kimpembe due to injury.

Gianluigi Donanarumma will have to deal with a place on the bench once again, as Matvey Safonov will start inbetween the sticks once again.

Having sat out on Friday with an ankle problem, Nuno Mendes faced late fitness test but will start against Bayern.

There will be a return for the suspended Marquinhos, as well as Vitinha, and Willian Pacho.

Bayern Munich Vs PSG Confirmed Lineups

Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Kimmich, Upamecano, Kim, Davies; Laimer Goretzka; Sane, Musiala, Coman; Kane

PSG (4-3-3): Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Neves; Dembele, Ruiz, Barcola

Bayern Munich Vs PSG Prediction

Neither side has made a good start to their Champions League campaign. But while both have been poor, Bayern’s home record remains excellent, and they are facing a PSG side bereft of confidence in Europe.

We therefore expect the hosts to win reasonably comfortably, leaving PSG in need of a stellar run in their remaining fixtures if they wish to progress.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 2-0 PSG
