Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are reportedly interested in g Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Having fallen out of favour under Arne Slot in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, Nunez is expected to leave Anfield this summer.

Al Hilal, meanwhile, have long been trying to bolster their squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup. However, they have not had much luck, with top targets, including Bruno Fernandes and Victor Osimhen, turning them down.

As per The Sun, Liverpool saved £13 million by not starting Nunez since March 2025. As per the agreement with Benfica, Liverpool would have had to pay the fee had Nunez started one more Premier League or Champions League game.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are interested in g Darwin Nunez from Liverpool. They have turned their attention to Nunez after swallowing multiple rejections. Al Hilal, however, could catch some luck this time, as Liverpool are open to selling Nunez for the right price.

This is, of course, not the first time Al Hilal is eyeing a move for a Liverpool player. In the summer of 2023, they made waves by trying to lure Mohamed Salah away from Anfield. They reportedly tabled a £150 million bid for the right winger, which Liverpool turned down. The club was supposedly ready to up the offer to £215 million, but the Reds showed little interest.

Al Hilal were in the running to sign Salah right until he penned a new two-year deal with Liverpool.

The PIF-backed side are pushing to sign a renowned football star before the transfer window pauses on June 10. They initially targeted Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United, offering to pay him up to £700,000 / week. The Man Utd captain, however, did not oblige, earning Gary Neville’s respect for rejecting the Saudi offer.

After Fernandes’ snub, Al Hilal approached Napoli with an offer for star striker Victor Osimhen. As per Fabrizio Romano, they tabled a mega offer: £54 million plus £4.2 million in add-ons. Osimhen, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool, has shown little interest in the move.
