Eddie Hearn Provides Anthony Joshua Vs Deontay Wilder Update As New Details Emerge

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder could still meet in the ring at some point, according to Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.
Hearn has said that the long-anticipated fight is still possible in future, provided Wilder gets his career back on track.
It’s been a tough period for “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder. But he faces Tyrell Herndon next month, with the opportunity to restore some credibility.
Wilder has lost four of his most recent fights, including a surprise defeat to Chinese fighter Zhilei Zhang in June last summer.
That defeat was six months after losing to Joseph Parker, a result which crushed any chance of a fight against Joshua for the time being.
But according to Eddie Hearn, an Anthony Joshua Vs Deontay Wilder fight is still possible in future.
Eddie Hearn Say Anthony Joshua Vs Deontay Wilder Could Still Happen
Speaking on a YouTube episode with FightHype.com, Hearn revealed that Wilder and Joshua had signed an agreement to fight before Wilder’s defeat to Parker.
But he believes a future bout is still possible, as long as Wilder continues to rebuild his career.
Hearn said: “If [Wilder] keeps winning, maybe people can talk about that fight.

“It’s definitely not a fight that I rule out, but people don’t give Wilder much shot against AJ right now, but hopefully he can start looking good again.
“Again, we talk about fighters losing their way. There’s a great example.
“It’s funny how people can be so fearful of a fighter, and then all of a sudden have no fear whatsoever.
“I don’t think anybody now would fear fighting Deontay Wilder, whereas at a point, everyone thought: ‘Oh my God, this guy is the biggest puncher in the history of the sport.’
“Now, everyone wants to fight him, so we shall see.”
Anthony Joshua Vs Daniel Dubois Badly Damaged AJ’s Career
Having hoped to silence his critics, Anthony Joshua saw his career dealt a hammer-blow with defeat to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois.
The two squared off at Wembley Stadium in September, with Dubois recording a stunning knockout victory.

As a result, undefeated Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk will face a Daniel Dubois rematch, with Dubois aiming to become the first British undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.
But while Joshua’s reputation may have been damaged, that defeat has made him fighting Wilder more likely.
When Is Anthony Johsua’s Next Fight?
Anthony Joshua’s next fight is not yet known, though. He has not been in the ring since losing to Dubois, and recently announced he will undergo surgery to repair a damaged elbow.
That operation is reportedly going to keep him out of action for eight weeks, ruling out a summer return to the ring.
Speaking to ESPN Mexico, Joshua said he is hoping to make a comeback before the end of 2025.

He said: “December I will fight again.
“That’s when I want to fight again, I’ll take some time and I will go in December.
“I just want to get my body feeling good and then I’ll fight. It’s a simple job.”
Tyson Fury Tells Deontay Wilder ‘It’s Time To Retire’ Rather Than Fight Anthony Joshua
But while Joshua and Wilder have both been trying to rebuild their careers after set-backs, not everyone thinks they should get back in the ring.
Recently retired former multiple world champion Tyson Fury argues Wilder should hang up the gloves.
According to Fury, Wilder’s time has been and gone, and The Bronze Bomber is a ‘shadow’ of his former self.

“Being truthful, I’d like to see poor old Deontay retire from boxing,” said Fury.
“When I beat Wilder, he was 44 and 0, with 43 KOs, and he KO’d the guy who went the distance with him in the rematch, so that means he knocked out every single person he ever faced. 44 people.
“Obviously, he lost the three fights to me and since that third trilogy, we took a lot of lot of years off each other’s lives.
“That war, which ended in the 11th round by knockout, that took a lot out of our tanks. Between me and Wilder in that trilogy there was 10 knockdowns. It takes a lot out of a fighter.
“Even when he’s come back and had a couple of fights since, he’s only a shadow of his former glory. The only thing left that remains the same about Deontay is his name.”
Deontay Wilder Net Worth
However, with the amount of money Wilder could make from a future fight against Joshua, it will be no surprise if he choses to keep going.
Some of Wilder’s biggest career payouts include $28 million for the Tyson Fury rematch, and $20 million for fighting Luis Ortiz for the second time.
In total, Deontay Wilder’s career earnings are estimated at more than $70 million from fights alone, with further income from brand deals and endorsements.
There are conflicting figures about his current net worth, but reports estimate that to be around $30 million.
