Dave Allen secured an emphatic fifth-round victory against Johnny Fisher in the pair’s heavyweight rematch at London’s Copper Box Arena.

The first fight ended in a controversial points victory for Fisher in December, with many believing the decision should have gone in Allen’s favour.

But there was no need for the scorecards on Saturday night, with Allen sending Fisher to the canvas with a flurry of ferocious punches.

Fisher recovered to his feet after the fifth-round knockdown, but was sent to the mat once again as Allen finished the fight in dominant style.

Speaking after his victory, Allen said: “This means everything to me.

“I’ve been written off so many times. I knew I had the ability, and at the right level, I’m a handful.”

Fisher left the arena without offering a post-fight interview. He later took to social media, posting on Instagram: “I weren’t good enough tonight but that’s what boxing is all about and that’s what sport is all about.

“The best people keep coming and keep going and don’t let one little blip get them down.”

The hugely popular Dave Allen was met with big cheers as he entered the ring.

But Johnny Fisher is one of the biggest ticket sellers in British boxing at the moment, thanks largely to his viral social media star father “Big John” Fisher and their well-known “bosh” catchphrase.

The early exchanged were tentative, with Allen struggling to land his overhand right and Fisher relied on his jab.

But the third round saw Allen land some brutal uppercuts, though he was warned by the referee for throwing punches after the official had called break.

Allen’s patience throughout the early round was eventually rewarded, with him landing a devastating knockout in the fifth round.

The two fighters have been close friends since sparring together a few years ago, and Allen waited for Fisher to regain his feet before celebrating the win.

What Next For Johnny Fisher?

“The Romford Bull” Johnny Fisher, 26, burst onto the professional scene with some impressive knockout wins after only a few amateur bouts.

But having been so outclassed by Allen, some are questioning where Fisher goes from here?

Meanwhile, Allen left the venue delighted with how his evening had panned out.

The 33-year-old has earned a big following for his humble and down-to-earth persona, endearing him to fans throughout the sport.

After the victory, he quipped: “I can now buy an en suite.”

Allen told press before Saturday’s rematch that he planned to keep fighting until his 35th birthday, but the weekend’s win may have just persuaded him to keep going a little longer.
