Chris Eubank Jr. may have to face off with more than just Conor Benn at their fight night, with his opponent asking Billy Joe Saunders to watch Eubank get his wrists wrapped.

Conor Benn’s mind games continue

There is no doubt that Chris Eubank Jr.’s head before their long awaited fight night on Saturday, and the Brit seems to have adopted a new tactic just days out.

Benn has asked one of Eubank’s oldest rivals, Billy Joe Saunders, to watch his opponent get his wrists wrapped before the fight begins.

Saunders handed Eubank the first defeat of his career 11 years ago this year and the pair didn’t exactly get any closer following the split decision victory.

Speaking this week in the buildup to “Fatal Fury”, Saunders has revealed he could play a role in the fight night as Benn looks to intimidate his opponent one final time.

“Conor Benn has actually asked me to come and watch Eubank’s hands get wrapped up.” Saunders said. “I’m going to have a call with him later to discuss it. He wants me to go in there and make sure there’s no cheating with the hand wraps. The one person Eubank will not want to see on the night is me.”

Saunders himself is reportedly looking to revive his career in the ring and a public appearance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend could be the first step in his return to action.

Billy Joe Saunders predicts Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn

As well as dropping huge hints that he could play a role in Saturday night’s fight, Saunders also provided a prediction for the bout with the 35-year-old very much in Benn’s corner.

“I think it’s going to be a good fight, but I want to see Conor Benn knock him out cold. Regardless of the result, I’ve always got the win over him so it doesn’t really matter to me.

“I would like to see Conor Benn knock him out cold and if I can help him do so then I will.”

Saunders gave fans an insight into how Benn has been training for the long awaited fight against Eubank having watched some of the camp.

“I know first hand that Conor Benn has been looking very explosive in sparring. I’m not going to mention any names but I know he’s knocked a couple of them out clean, cold in sparring.” Saunders continued.

“Clearly Benn has had a great camp and is in great shape. So if Eubank thinks he’s going to go in there and use the bully tactics, something tells me Conor Benn is going to knock him out.”
