Now that she is a free agent, speculation is running wild: Will Paige return to WWE?

Former WWE Divas Champion and AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya, formerly known as Paige, has officially left AEW.

Let’s break down everything she has said about a potential return to WWE and what it could mean for the wrestling world.

Saraya, who spent a decade in WWE from 2012 to 2022, confirmed on the debut episode of her new podcast that she has officially left AEW.

While she has hinted at possible retirement, she has also made it clear that she remains open to the idea of returning to WWE.

In an interview with B4 The Bell, Saraya addressed the swirling rumours.

“You know what, this came up so much at my g yesterday,” Saraya said. “I didn’t realise I always have this insecurity, I guess, where I feel like people just don’t give a crap about me [laughs], and I have to be reminded of it all the time.

“But I get so many people wondering if I’m gonna go back there. I’m just like, I don’t know. I don’t know.

“Maybe if there’s something cool that comes along, and they would want me back there. Maybe. Who knows? Who knows what the future holds? Never say never.”

While nothing is set in stone, she isn’t ruling out a WWE return if the right opportunity presents itself.

If Saraya were to return to WWE, would she go back to using the Paige moniker?

She has a strong connection to the name, as it played a major role in her career, including being the inspiration for the biographical film Fighting with My Family.

When asked about potentially reviving her Paige persona, she responded, “Paige. Paige. Paige, I felt like I could leave that character at the door. I love being Saraya, and I love that people know me as Saraya and stuff like that.

“With Paige though, I felt like I built such a special thing with her, and then when I got home, I didn’t have to be her anymore. But I loved who I built with her. She was a badass. I loved being her, and she has built my life. I got a movie made about Paige.

“A lot of my career is built on that character, and people love that character, and that’s the one that kind of stood out compared to everybody else. She has a special place in my heart.

“If I was to go back, Paige in a heartbeat. Same music, Paige, everything.”

For those unfamiliar with her story, Saraya’s WWE career was cut short due to a severe neck injury in December 2017.

After leaving WWE, she ed AEW, where she made a triumphant return to the ring.

Now that she has left AEW, fans are eager to see if WWE would be willing to bring her back, especially given that she has proven she can still compete at a high level.
