Nick Kyrgios Makes Bold Claim Over Miami Open
The controversial tennis star is clearly a big fan of the Miami Open and has gone as far as to say it should be considered the fifth slam.
Kyrgios’ recent time in the sport has been far from ideal, as the Australian has struggled with injury and was eliminated in the opening round of his first two tournaments since returning from injury.
During his absence from the sport, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist required wrist surgery and is yet to fully recover – withdrawing from the Indian Wells earlier this month.
However, Kyrgios did pick up his first win on the ATP Tour since October 2022 on March 19th in Miami, beating Mackenzie McDonald 6-3, 3-6, 4-6 to reach the round of 32.
Picking up a win for the first time in three years may have something to do with Kyrgios comments over the Miami Open, as he was full of praise for the tournament and is one of the favourites to win the tournament on UK betting sites.
