Burnley Vs Luton Preview

Burnley will be quietly confident of continuing their automatic promotion push at Turf Moor on Saturday. Amazingly, the Clarets actually conceded a goal during the midweek victory at Cardiff.

Josh Brownhill and Maxime Esteve gave Scott Parker’s side a comfortable lead before Yousef Salech did the unthinkable and beat James Trafford.

The 2-1 win in Wales means Parker’s men remain in third spot. They are just two points off Sheffield United who occupy second position.

In the reverse fixture against Saturday’s opponents, Brownhill, Wilson Odobert, Dara O’Shea and Vitinho all netted in a thumping 4-1 win at Kenilworth Road.

A similar result will go down very well with the Burnley faithful. Especially as they have a better goal difference than the Blades which could prove vital come May.

Luton picked up their first win of 2025 against Portsmouth last weekend. Jordan Clark scored the only goal of the game after 25 minutes.

Subsequently, that priceless three points moved the Hatters off the foot of the table. Matt Bloomfield’s side managed to leapfrog Derby and Plymouth in the process.

That victory has certainly renewed hope that last season’s Premier League outfit will avoid back-to-back relegations. Something of which is extremely rare in English football.

Bloomfield’s side will need to be at their very best on Saturday at Turf Moor. A ground in which they haven’t lost at in their last four appearances.

Ahead of the match, the best football betting sites in the UK make Burnley the 13/20 favourites. Luton can be backed at 6/1 with the draw available at 14/5.

Burnley Vs Luton Team News

Scott Parker is likely to pick the same starting XI that beat Cardiff on Tuesday. Once again, Jordan Beyer, Aaron Ramsey and Mike Tresor will miss out for Burnley.

So to will Bashir Humphreys. The Chelsea loanee is still recovering from a quad injury he picked up in training. On Thursday, Connor Roberts penned a new two-year deal and he’ll start at the back.

Meanwhile, Luton will once again be missing Shandon Baptiste and Marvelous Nakamba. The duo were injured in the M1 derby defeat to Watford.

Reece Burke, Daiki Hashioka, Teden Mengi and Tahith Chong are also ruled out injured. Boss Matt Bloomfield is likely to start winter g Christ Makosso after his impressive performance against Portsmouth.

Burnley Vs Luton Predicted Lineups

Burnley (4-2-3-1): Trafford; Roberts, Egan-Riley, Esteve, Pires; Brownhill, Cullen; Edwards, Mejbri, Anthony; Flemming

Luton (3-5-2): Kaminski; Makosso, Naismith, Bell; Jones, Clark, Aasgaard, Walsh, Doughty; Morris, Brown

Burnley Vs Luton Prediction

Although they will be buoyed after their win over Portsmouth last week, Burnley represents a much sterner test for Luton and we are predicting a comfortable win to nil for the Clarets.

Scott Parker’s side have far too much quality and we fully expect them to expose the Hatters at Turf Moor.

Prediction: Burnley 3-0 Luton
