Scottie Scheffler has warned his fellow PGA players that he is now ready for the 2025 campaign after recovering from a hand surgery.
Scottie Scheffler Sends Warning Ahead Of 2025 PGA Campaign
The world No.1 is entering the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational to defend his title and enters his fourth event of 2025.
Scheffler competed in his first event of the year at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which began a late start to the 2025 campaign following an injury to his hand that required surgery.
In the build up to his next tournament, Scheffler spoke about the recent injury and how his recovery has thrown different challenges his way.
He said: “I think it’s challenging any time you’re coming off an injury. That first time you step back out inside the ropes, it’s different playing competition tournament golf, and there’s definitely challenges to it, and it takes a little bit of time to get used to.”
So far Scheffler has managed some decent performances, finishing ninth at Pebble beach, 25th at the WM Phoenix Open and third at the Genesis Invitational.
In years prior, the world No.1 has played in more events in the lead up to the PGA campaign, however, despite playing less golf this year he feels he is ‘caught up’ and ready.
“I feel caught up. It was not rushed to start Pebble but it was definitely quicker than my off-season prep usually is, just by nature of the injury.”
During his recovery, Scheffler revealed that his primary focus was to go back to basics and focus on the swing following the surgery to his right hand.
Scheffler said: “That was the first thing we looked for when I started hitting balls again was to make sure that I wasn’t going to adjust to it.
“Because I had an injury to my right hand, my right hand is pretty dang important to the golf swing. That’s why I use the reminder club as often as I do. It’s not a perfect science.
“I think we have an understanding that you’re not going to be perfect every week and a lot of times during the tournament week when it’s time to go compete.”
