Victor Osimhen’s switch to Stamford Bridge is edging closer to completion, according to the latest Fabrizio Romano Chelsea transfer news.

The Italian sports journalist posted on X, formerly Twitter, how talks between both parties continue to progress. The Blues are understood to be the only Premier League side in the race for the Napoli star.

If a move wasn’t to materialise, Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli are ready to pounce, reports Romano. However, Osimhen would likely favour a move to England’s elite.

Despite hitting Wolves for six on GW2, Enzo Maresca’s side is still in need of an out-and-out goalscorer and Osimhen would be the ideal candidate to lead the line.

Fabrizio Romano Chelsea Transfer News: Blues In Line To Seal Osimhen Deal

Victor Osimhen’s Chelsea transfer would likely prove to be one of the most sensible pieces of business the Blues have conducted in recent years.

Especially since Todd Boehly took control and has laid out over a billion pounds on 44 new players. Osimhen is a proven goalscorer and would be perfectly complemented by the likes of Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer.

The Napoli star helped fire Gli Azzurri to the Serie A title in 2022/23. Furthermore, he finished as the league’s top scorer, netting 26 times.

Although he wasn’t as prolific last season, Osimhen would likely prove to be a huge hit in the Premier League. Undoubtedly, he would be Boehly’s marquee summer transfer window g.

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that French giants PSG have never been in the running for Osimhen, which really does pave the way for the west Londoners to get the deal over the line.

The potential void left by Osimhen is set to be filled by Romelu Lukaku. Belgium’s all-time top scorer is still technically a Chelsea player – although he has spent the last two seasons on loan at Inter and Roma.
