Everton Vs Manchester United Player Ratings

Everton Ratings

Jordan Pickford – 6

Questionable positioning for the free-kick which Bruno Fernandes scored from, but made an outstanding save to deny the Portuguese midfielder a second.

Jake O’Brien – 6

Solid display from the right-back position and did the basics well. Received a yellow card towards the end of the first-half.

James Tarkowski – 7

James Tarkowski and his centre-back partner looked assured at the back. Not much they could have done about either of Manchester United’s goals.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 8

Excellent performance at the back and looked unbeatable in the air – forcing a smart save from Andre Onana just after the break.

Vitali Mykolenko – 6

Strong defensive display for the majority of the game but looked nervy towards the end.

James Garner – 7

Looked determined against his former side putting in a lot of energy and winning a number of free-kicks from some rash United tackles. Was booked in the second-half.

Idrissa Gueye – 6

Always the engine of this Everton team and provided the shield in midfield that United’s defenders wished they had.

Jesper Lindstrom – 7

Produced some flashes of brilliance in the first-half including a lovely flick which set up a chance for Everton. Forced off early into the second-half after picking up a knock.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – 7

Tale of two halves for Abdoulaye Doucoure who assisted the opener before heading home Everton’s second. However, his handball gave away the free-kick which Bruno Fernandes scored from and he also could have done better to rush out to Manuel Ugarte before the Manchester United midfielder thumped in their equaliser.

Jack Harrison – 7

Lively performance on the flank and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet just before Doucoure put in the rebound.

Beto – 8

Beto was a handful every time he picked the ball up and made it five goals in four appearances with a close-range finish. David Moyes is getting the best out of Beto who netted just once in his opening 14 league goals this term.

Substitutes

Ashley Young (On for Jesper Lindstrom 54′) – 5

Carlos Alcaraz (On for Abdoulaye Doucoure 78′) – 5

Tim Iroegbunam (On for James Garner 78′) – 5

Manchester United Ratings

Andre Onana – 6

There was not a lot he could have done for the goals with one defender in particular letting him down for the second. Managed to keep United in the game with an excellent save from Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Noussair Mazraoui – 5

Soldiered on after suffering an early injury and did well to stop Beto scoring Everton’s third just before half-time but struggled otherwise.

Harry Maguire – 3

Made a catalogue of errors for Everton’s second goal including a couple of missed challenges and was then beaten to the header by Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Matthijs De Ligt – 3

Counting his lucky stars that a late penalty was overturned for his pull on Ashley Young. Looked overwhelmed at times during a poor first-half and his performance was summed up by a basic back which went out of play.

Diogo Dalot – 4

Seemed off the pace all afternoon and was lucky Ruben Amorim decided to keep him on for the full duration.

Manuel Ugarte – 6

Was heading for a 4/10 in our Everton vs Manchester United player ratings as it took him about 70 minutes to wake up on his return from injury. That was until he lashed in a stunning equaliser to give United hope of a shocking comeback victory.

Casemiro – 4

Showed a real lack of energy in midfield – justifying Ruben Amorim’s decision to mainly leave him on the bench over recent months.

Patrick Dorgu – 7

Was Manchester United’s most consistent performer over the course of the game getting up and down the pitch and winning a number of free-kicks.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

Didn’t offer much going forward as he lacked the physicality required against Everton’s towering defenders.

Bruno Fernandes – 7

Poor first-half but stepped up when required in the second as he scored an excellent free-kick and came close to what would have been the winner.

Rasmus Hojlund – 5

Looked lost out on the pitch and is now without a goal in 16 matches. However, he is not helped by the service to him which was practically non-existent.

Substitutes

Alejandro Garnacho (On for Casemiro 62’) – 7

Chido Obi-Martin (On for Rasmus Hojlund 70’) – 6

Leny Yoro (On for Noussair Mazraoui 70′) – 6
