Bri Ellis is rewriting what dominance looks like in college softball. The Arkansas first baseman is putting up video game numbers, crushing SEC pitching, and walking off teams that dare pitch to her. Now the question is whether she can carry the Razorbacks to their first-ever national title.

Bri Ellis exploded on social media after her walk-off grand slam in the SEC Tournament. Arkansas slugger a pitch to hit. But in the bottom of the seventh, with the game on the line and the bases loaded, with no other option, they finally pitched to her. One swing later, the ball was gone—and so was Georgia. The Razorbacks won in dramatic fashion, and Ellis set new single-season school records for home runs and RBIs.

The moment blew up online. Fans, media outlets, and softball players from across the country shared the clip, calling her the most dangerous hitter in the game. The viral moment pushed Ellis into the national spotlight as the postseason ramps up.

Arkansas Softball Star Bri Ellis Is the Most Feared Hitter in the Country

Ellis transferred to Arkansas from Auburn and has exploded in her senior year. Her stats are outrageous:

  • .487 batting average
  • 26 home runs
  • 72 RBIs
  • .659 OBP / 1.221 SLG / 1.880 OPS

That OPS beats Barry Bonds’ best season. No joke. SEC teams have resorted to intentionally walking her multiple times per game. In the SEC Tournament vs Georgia, they walked her three times—then pitched to her with the bases loaded in the seventh. She hit a walk-off grand slam.

This is  a full season of utter domination.

When Does Arkansas Play Next in the NCAA Softball Tournament?

Arkansas (43–12) is hosting Ole Miss in the Super Regionals at Bogle Park in Fayetteville. The series runs May 23–25.

  • Game 1: Friday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
  • Game 2: Saturday, May 24 at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN2)
  • Game 3 (if needed): Sunday, May 25 (TBD)

You can watch on the ESPN app, ESPN.com, or SEC Network+ with a valid subscription.

Is Bri Ellis the Greatest Softball Player of All Time?

She’s in the conversation. Right now, she’s the most dominant hitter in the country. Her stats are better than anyone else this season, and her walk-off moments are going viral for a reason.

But GOAT status in softball usually means sustained greatness and titles. Jocelyn Alo won multiple national championships with Oklahoma. Rachel Garcia was a two-time national player of the year and won at UCLA.

Ellis is still chasing that postseason legacy. If she leads Arkansas to a national title, the debate gets real.

Can Arkansas Softball Win the 2025 National Championship?

This is the best shot they’ve had. Ellis is surrounded by a solid lineup, and the team is peaking at the right time. But they’ll have to go through heavyweights like Oklahoma and Tennessee to do it.

If Ellis stays hot and Arkansas pitches well, they’ve got a real chance. And if they win it all, Ellis isn’t just the face of the season—she’s in the GOAT debate for real.
