Brazilian tennis sensation João Fonseca made quick work of Danish player and qualifier Elmer Moller in the first round of the 2025 Mutua Madrid Open.

Fonseca’s match was played on a show court as tournament organizers understand the type of excitement and crowd fervor he brings to the game.

All cylinders were firing for Fonseca, who won 6-2, 6-3.

Joao Fonseca Shares His Dream Opponent

Fonseca recently said he wants to play Novak Djokovic.  He welcomes the challenge to play arguably the greatest tennis player ever.

Joao Fonseca, 18, is ascending in rankings and popularity as his game and maturity continue to develop.  He will be a star for years to come, and fans would pack any worldwide stadium to see him play Djokovic.

In the meantime, Fonseca will have a formidable challenge on his hands in his next round against American Tommy Paul.
