Kansas City Chiefs make adjustments to potential Super Bowl parade after 2024 tragedy

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced adjustments to their Super Bowl parade should they win this year, after the tragedy that took place in 2024.
Chiefs taking precautions for parade
Multiple reports out of Kansas City suggest that should the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, plans for a parade would be very different to last year.
After winning their second Super Bowl in a row last year, tragedy struck at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade, with a mass shooting casting devastation and panic over what should have been an afternoon of celebration.
The shooting was reportedly caused by a dispute between fans, with one bystander killed and 22 injured outside Union Station in the 2024 parade. Two teenagers were later charged for the shooting and arrested.
This year Kansas City are taking more precautions to avoid a repeat of the disaster, with FOX announcing a new parade route should the Chiefs pull off a historic three-peat.
Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle-turned reporter Malik Jackson broke the news about the parade after plans were finalised by city officials on Thursday afternoon.
“If they win, the celebration will begin with an exclusive gathering at Arrowhead Stadium for players, their families, Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas. That gathering may be broadcast on screens along the parade route,” Jackson wrote.
If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, there will be a parade, but no public rally.

“Following the Arrowhead celebration, players would stage near Crown Center, players will load there for the parade, with a parade route to begin at Pershing and Main, then go to Grand and extend up Grand to 6th Street.”
Fans will still be able to see the Super Bowl parade should the Chiefs win but there will be significantly more security and protection at the celebration
Of course the Chiefs haven’t actually won the Super Bowl yet and there may be no parade at all this year if the Philadelphia Eagles can find a way to upset the champions.
Unlike Kansas City, Philadelphia is yet to announce any plans for a parade with the details only being confirmed if Vince Lombardi at the second time of asking.
