Would the Cleveland Browns consider trading defensive end Myles Garrett for a bevy of draft picks? General manager Andrew Berry clearly stated that the team wants to keep their star rusher.

Myles Garrett Will Remain In Cleveland

On Tuesday, Berry spoke with three Browns’ beat reporters at the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl. Berry was asked a hypothetical: “If someone sees you at dinner tonight and says, ‘We’ll give you two ones for Myles,’ do you say, ‘I’m not interested?’”

“Correct,” Berry said via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “You can put that on the record.”

Garrett, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, has two years remaining on his five-year, $125 million contract. Garrett will become a free agent after the 2026 season.

However, Garrett is interested in a contract extension. Garrett is the fifth highest-paid NFL edge rusher at $25 million annually. San Francisco’s Nick Bosa is first at $34 million.

Although Berry did not go into details about the contract discussions with Garrett, he did say that the organization wants the former No. 1 overall pick to finish his career in Cleveland.

“I don’t want to go into contract discussions. I wouldn’t do that publicly,” Berry said. “But I think you can assume that we do anticipate at some point doing a third contract with Myles. We want him to retire here.”

Garrett is still one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Garrett became the first player in NFL history with 14 or more sacks in four consecutive seasons. Garrett’s 14 sacks were second behind Cincinnati’s Trey Hendrickson with 17.

Garrett, 29, now has the most sacks in the Browns’ history with 102.5.

Garrett was named a 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year finalist.

Cleveland Browns Have A Major Decision To Make At QB

The biggest question for the Browns this offseason involves the quarterback position.

Deshaun Watson missed most of the season with a torn Achilles. In January, Watson ruptured his Achilles again and could miss all of 2025.

Watson is still owed $92 million over the next two seasons.

However, the Browns must find a quarterback to play the majority of snaps this season.

With the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft, the Browns could take one of the top quarterback prospects, including Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.

The Browns could also take a quarterback in the middle rounds and sign a bridge quarterback like Jameis Winston.
