After a 3-14 season, the Deion Sanders might have been interested in becoming the Titans’ next head coach.

Deion Sanders’ Interest In The Titans

On Tuesday, Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Struk fired Carthon after two seasons in Tennessee. For now, the team will retain Callahan despite his 3-14 record after his first season.

By all s, the Titans will not clean house and fire Callahan. However, The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov named Sanders as a potential replacement for Callahan, believing the opportunity to draft and coach his son Shedeur would have made him interested in the job.

“I think Deion Sanders would have been interested in this job and taking it that Shedeur Sanders and having him there with the number one overall pick,” Meirov said on NFL Spotlight. “It won’t happen if Callahan is there, but if they were to fire the head coach, and they would have had a full reset, I think Deion would have been interested in that job and coaching his son there, picking him at number one.”

Sanders’ name has come up in NFL head coaching discussions as he continues to succeed at the college level. Ensuring his son and Travis Hunter go to their preferred NFL destinations is something Coach Prime has lobbied for in the past. Sanders told Million Dollaz Worth of Game that his star players would not play for teams in “certain cities,” citing Eli Manning as an example of a player who forced his way to a specific team.

Sanders also tweeted out “Wow” in response to Carthon’s firing.

For now, it’s all speculation, with Callahan still employed as the Titans’ head coach.

Titans Will Likely Take A QB At No. 1

It’s no secret that the Titans need a new quarterback. Will Levis and Mason Rudolph have not proved they can be the long-term answer.

With the No. 1 pick, the Titans can pick their top-ranked quarterback, which will likely be Miami’s Cam Ward or Sanders.

Per Benjamin Allbright, the Titans are rumored to “love” Ward.

The Titans have plenty of time to decide, with the 2025 NFL Draft scheduled for late April.
