Former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is eyeing a return to the league.

Teddy Bridgewater Wants To Play Again

In February 2024, Bridgewater announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons.

Bridgewater transitioned to coaching, leading Miami (Florida) Northwestern to a state title last Saturday.

What will Bridgewater do for his next act? It turns out that Bridgewater plans to return to the NFL and could sign with a team within the next few weeks.

“We’ll see how [the] next week and a half, two weeks play out, might be g with a team or something,” Bridgewater said on Tuesday’s edition of The Insiders when asked about a potential NFL comeback. “And then returning back to coach high school football in February. So, we’ll see.

“That’s the plan. My team knows that’s the plan,” Bridgewater continued. “We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football. We’ll see how it plays out.”

Teddy Bridgewater NFL Career

The Minnesota Vikings selected Bridgewater in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Bridgewater played for the Vikings (2014-2017), New Orleans Saints (2018-2019), Carolina Panthers (2020), Denver Broncos (2021), Miami Dolphins (2022), and Detroit Lions (2023).

Bridgewater has thrown for 15,120 yards, 75 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions. The 32-year-old owns a 33-32 record as a starter.

With several teams dealing with injuries at quarterback, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Bridgewater could be an added veteran presence in a playoff team’s locker room.
