NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500 Entry List: Dates, Event Times, Ryan Blaney’s Frustration At Martinsville Speedway

Ryan Blaney had it.
Until Tyler Reddick went high Sunday and swiped away his invitation to next month’s Championship 4 race.
Blaney, the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion, now faces a nearly win-or-bust event at Martinsville Speedway – and some sleepless nights this week.
Reddick, who rode the outside lane to execute last-lap es along Turns 3 and 4, captured the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway and received a champion’s embrace from team co-owner Michael Jordan in Victory Lane.
In an instant postseason classic, six of the Round of 8 pilots placed in the top six.
During the final series of green-flag pit stops, Blaney appeared to have the machine to beat after overcoming an aggressive by Kyle Larson, who spun out and set up the final restart. Blaney elected the lower – slower! – line and settled for P2, losing by 0.24 seconds.
“Had a great shot to win and I didn’t have a very good last lap,” Blaney told NBC Sports. “I thought I got into (Turn) 3 hard. The No. 45 blitzed it in there and it stuck, that was really impressive. Hate to give one away like that.
“Just a shame, I’ll be thinking about it all night, what I could’ve done.”
With two final four spots remaining entering the Round of 8 finale at Martinsville, Blaney, who led 47 laps, sits 38 points below the elimination line.
“Overall, really proud of the effort,” Blaney said. “Had a shot to go to Phoenix, we still have one more shot. Just a shame, I’ll be up all night thinking about what I could’ve done differently.”
What a win! What a drive!
