The United States women’s rugby sevens team took on Australia in the bronze medal match at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After a tight first half, Australia held a 12-7 lead over the United States with 30 seconds remaining in the match.

Australia kicked it deep after missing a conversion, leaving the United States with minimal time to mount a comeback.

With the game tied at 12, the Americans needed a short conversion to take the lead.

Sedrick split the uprights to secure the bronze medal for the Americans in a 14-12 victory.

It’s the first medal ever won by Team USA in rugby sevens, men’s or women’s.

Overall, the bronze in rugby marks the United States’ 21st medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
